Monica Capelluto
was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with family roots that reach across Portugal, Poland, and Turkey. Now an American artist based in Florida for nearly 25 years, she balances her creative life with her role as a devoted mother of three and as an architect at the renowned firm Saltz Michelson Architects in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Deeply drawn to the visual arts, Monica finds in painting a space of reflection and imagination. Working primarily in acrylics, she explores layered techniques that evoke the richness and texture of oil painting. Her dreamlike compositions open windows into vivid, poetic worlds—often inhabited by Sebald Duval, a whimsical duck who has become both muse and storyteller in her ongoing “Duck Series.”
